Principal Secretaries Hold High-Level Talks to Strengthen Cross-Government Collaboration on Restoration and Food Security

Forestry Principal Secretary Mr. Gitonga Mugambi, on 5th Thursday, 2026 joined his colleagues  PS's for a  high-level  consultative meeting hosted by his Irrigation Counterpart, CPA Ephantus Kimotho, at his office.
The meeting brought together key government leaders including Ms. Roseline Njogu (Diaspora Affairs) and  Mr. Patrick Kilemi (Cooperatives), to explore strategic collaboration among the State Departments in advancing national development priorities.
Discussions focused on strengthening inter-governmental coordination to accelerate forest ecosystem restoration, promote sustainable irrigation development, enhance diaspora investment in agriculture and support cooperative-driven value chains that contribute to food security and improved rural livelihoods.
The leaders underscored the importance of a Whole-of-Government approach in delivering impactful programmes that integrate environmental sustainability, economic empowerment, and inclusive growth.
The engagement reaffirmed the State Department for Forestry’s commitment to working closely with other government institutions to advance landscape restoration efforts under the #15BillionTrees initiative while supporting livelihoods and sustainable resource management across the country.
