Patrick Meso, OGW
Secretary Administration

Patrick Meso, OGW, is an accomplished public administrator currently serving as the Secretary for Administration in the State Department for Forestry. He provides strategic leadership and administrative oversight to support the Department’s mandate in sustainable forest management, environmental conservation, and institutional efficiency.

He holds a Master of Business Administration (Strategic Management) from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (2011) and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Nairobi (1996). He has also undertaken senior leadership development programmes in Kenya, Malaysia, and Tanzania, including ESAMI.

Mr. Meso has risen through the ranks within the National Government Administration from District Officer to County Commissioner. In 2025, he briefly served as County Commissioner for Kilifi County and previously held senior leadership positions in Mandera, Kakamega, Kitui, and Nyeri. He also served as County Secretary for Taita Taveta (2013–2017), where he helped establish strong administrative structures during the early years of devolution.

His career is marked by effective governance, institutional strengthening, and demonstrated negotiation skills in complex security and cross-border matters.
